This is the main reason why self-declaration is not accepted in verification.

The V-Label brand was born in Italy in the ’70s and was officially presented internationally at the first European Vegetarian Congress held in 1985 organized by A.V.I. (Italian Vegetarian Association).

Today it is used as an institutional symbol by various «veg» Associations and was already used as a «veg» product identifier in 1989.
